African Grey 4 month old behaviors

About 3 weeks ago we got an African Grey 4 months old from the breader. He does not let us pet him still, screams when we approaching the cage. He has a good size cage, playground and attention. How long does it usually take for the bird to acept new owners and what can we do to make this transaction easier on a bird
