Urinating Issue

I am asking this questions for my friend. He has a male kitten, 7 months old, neutered today actually. Well he caught his kitten urinating in the shower! It seems that Simba urinates in the house sometimes. He is an indoor kitten, living in a 2 bdrm apt. He does use his litterbox but not everytime. Any suggestions on how to get him to use his box?
