We have a very prengnant stray that showed up. She looks like she will have her litter any time now. I want to bring her in, but want to wash her first. Can I use soap on her, and if so, just regular soap or can I use flea shampoo. I am afraid that I will only be able to give her a wter bath. does any one know? I already have an indoor cat and want to get off as much of her as possible so she won't give anything to my current baby.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, you can wash the pregnant cat.
If you don't have any cat shampoo yet, go to the pet store & read the labels; make sure it says it's safe for pregnant cats. If it isn't, it would state on the label to not use it on a pregnant cat.
If you do have some flea shampoo: make sure it's safe for cats; read the label & see if it's safe for pregnant cats.
There are non-flea shampoos that you can use also: buy a cat shampoo.
It would be a good idea to take the cat to the vet & get her checked for parasites, ear mites, & to get a physical & shots.

Thanks,
I did call the vet yesterday because I noticed tape worms and I want to bring her in when she is about to have them. They gave me meds for that. They saw her when she was weighed, and I asked her if she needed to be seen, but they said not really cats do just fine on their own. I guess maybe if she was a pet they would have been more concerned than just a stray. We still are not sure if we will be keeping her or not, but we will be taking care of her through this ordeal. Knowing us we will end up keeping her. Thanks for the info though. I just wasn't sure what would pass through the skin and I forgot to ask the vet.
