I have a 20lb female terrier (not sure but about that size and vet says she looks like a shepard or husky but she's short, curled tail, solid white, and alot of energy!) I adopted/rescued from a 'person' who knew nothing about the her and I have a 40 lb male catahoula mix. Will whelping pups from him hurt her? Or should I think about aborting? I already have homes (family and close friends) for 6 pups (if she has that many and I am not selling them). I'd greatly appreciate the advice. This was an accident, and cost me a door/floor and I don't want to find out it cost me her life too.

Take her to the vet. Consult him. The size of the puppies is unknown, they could be large or small. The vet can advise you on the best course of action. Litter reduction may be necessary - or not. She may be able to bring them to term; she'll need regular checkups if you decide to let her have them.
