My dog won't go jogging!

Hi, I have a 8 month old wheaten Terrier and I have tried to take him joging but he wont jog. He stops, and lays still in the ground. What can I do?

You dog is sitting down & becoming an immovable object.
   
Therefore, your dog is telling you something & you're not listening:
   
He doesn't want to go jogging! It's too much work!
   
He's way too small to keep up with you on a jog. It's too tiring for him.
   
A dog that size should be walked, not jogged. Jogging is for greyhounds and other dogs that are bred for a lot of long-distance running.
   
A half-hour brisk walk, at the dog's pace, is what he needs, 3 times a day if possible.
   
Oh, and some excursions to the local dog park, where he can tear around without his leash and meet the boys.
   
It's best if you jog on your own - or maybe replace part of your jog with is walk.

Hmm.. maybe give him incentives. Like make him walk or run before you give him treats. Do this continuously so he understands what its like to jog.
