My husband and I have decided to put our dog in shows and competitions. He is a yr and 2 mos. My husband did not want to do the showing part so I was trying to train Angus. I first had to establish leader and was doing the modeling sit and down. My husband then decided he wanted to do that as well. From what I've read a dog will only accept one pack leader. Will it be confusing both of us trying to establish leader. Does just one of us need to be doing the training as well? Also Angus was trying to bite me when I was doing the modeling sit and down but not him, he did do better with him. The book is "Dog Training for Dummies". Thanks,

It's not a problem if you both train your dog because you won't be seen as pack leader in your dog's eyes. It's hard to know which he'll think of as pack leader but all he needs to know is that you are BOTH HIGHER than him in the household's packing order. He needs to be established as the lowest in the pack, and then he will relax about having to assert himself.

Hope this helps...
