If the rash continues, I would highly recommend that you spray the area with Vetericyn. It helps get oxygen into the infected area. It works fast, too. My dog swims in ponds every day, and I didn't know what to do about it, until now. She used to get frequent skin irritations and scabs from scratching, but not anymore.

Do you use that medication after everytime your dog goes in the water, or only if a rash begins to show?

Thank you all, the rash is gone and the pond water was definately the source of this rash.

I spray Vetericyn on my dog whenever it seems like her skin looks like it's starting to get irritated again--not necessarily every day, but maybe a few times per week. I always keep a bottle handy, espcially for travel or long walks in case she steps on something that cuts her paw. It's great to hear your dog is doing better!
