we just got a 2 year old Husky Malamute Samoyed mix from a rescue. We have had her for almost 5 days now and she is eating very very little food. She is playful with us and is alert and begs for people food but wont eat. She instead likes to hid the food she gets and wont really touch her food dish. I was contributing all this to being home sick and in a new environment but its almost been a week. I want to know if there is any suggestions and what to do to get her to start eating.

A dog that's not eating has a problem, especially if she wants to eat. Have you talked to the vet about this? Tests may be in order.
The fact that she's hiding the food may indicate a fear of not having enough to eat in the future; dogs stash food (see: burying bones), but this kind of stashing is extreme.
If she truly, specifically, dislikes the dish, give her a dinner plate for now; later, she may take to the dish when she's more relaxed.
Not eating in front of you is likely a holdover from some problem in her previous home; maybe the act of eating made her vulnerable to some kind of attack & she doesn't want to risk it.
Have you checked where she's hiding her food? If not, find out where it is, & keep an eye on it. Is she eating when you're not around? If she is, then it's an overabundance of caution on her part.
If she's hiding her food in a not-inconvenient place, you could try moving her dish to that place. Perhaps she's like a protected place to eat - the equivalent of a cave.
If she doesn't have a crate/box/cave to hide in, get her one. You don't actually need a crate, just a shelter. A small tent will do: google "dog tent" (search page link attached), there are several on the market for $28.00 & up. They fold up, come in mulitiple designs & colors, & double for yard shelters. You can put the tent in a quiet off-the-beaten-track corner & put her dish inside it. This can be HER cave, for those times she feels vulnerable.
