why does leg react when petting

what makes the dogs leg response when i pet certain areas of my dog???? And does that reaction feel good to them or not really???

It's pretty common in dogs that this happens. The petting in that spot hits a nerve & causes an automatic reaction. If he didn't like it, he'd leave the petting session.
