My horse was recently diagnosed with uveitis. After doing some research, I am utterly devastated. I have had her on steroids for the past month, and the vet is due to come back out to check on her. I have been monitoring her, and nothing has changed in her personality, she is eager and she loves attention, but you can still tell that her eye is inflammed. What's next? I am worried about the cost of surgery. I have been thinking about finding other homes for my 2 horses recently because of the poor economy and poor finances, but this makes it so much harder. I don't want to let my horses go (my other horse had his eye removed years ago due to cancer). Are there any other treatments for her? What can I expect if surgery is suggested? Any other suggestions?
