I'm really impressed by a book I've read called Bad Hare Days. It's the autobiography of an Irish campaigner for hare and rabbit protection, John Fitzgerald, who's been campaigning for decades to get better protection for our furry friends in his country. It basically tells the story of the campaign, and how taking a stand for the bunnies impacted on him and his family, a sort of human interest story as well as one that serves as a tribute to animal welfare/protection people everywhere and that motivates people to really care about these creatures that depend so much on us humans.

There are so many books that glorify hunting and shooting rabbits and hares that I was delighted to find one that champions the cause their worthy cause. Not since I read Watership Down have I enjoyed a book with an "animal world" theme. I've just logged onto this site and I love the pet pictures!

A Little Dog Like You, Rosemary Sutcliff: After he dies, a woman's Chi INSISTS he has to go back to his mother. St. Francis of Assisi gives him the chance, but it isn't going to be easy.
