Shall We Get A Kitten When We Have An Old Cat?

It depends on the cat. Some old cats take to youngsters very quickly; some don't.
Actually, I'd advise a pair of kittens or young cats, so that if the old cat doesn't want to play, the kids can romp with each other.
Personally, I think kittens about 9-10 months old are great. They're still children but they can take care of themselves & (hopefully) out of trouble.
They will certainly prevent the old cat from becoming bored.
