My 17yr old indoor cat has a swollen paw/leg.Vet gave antiinflamatory meds which made him constipated and he has eaten very little for days.Has no fever, xrays showed no broken bones,no wounds found.Dr.said he sees only fatty tissue,no arthritis.Has been on Norvase for bp for several months, kidney values are normal. He doesn't seem to be in pain but is very weak and listless. Is now drinking little water.

My cat,Crystal went for second opinion on May 12th.After complete blood work the Dr. informed me he needed a blood transfusion as he was seriously anemic. Many other values were either too high or too low.He could not guarentee he would make it.He was 17yrs old and never been this sick. The Dr. thought the swelling had to do with circulation.I wish the regular vet had run these tests sooner.I had to make a decision to put him to sleep.I felt he would not last long and may suffer.I had spent over $1,000 and had him to four vets since last Thanksgiving.I miss him terribly and so do his four siblings. He was a Maine Coon with 6 toes and the most gentle loving cat I ever owned and everyone who saw him loved him. Thanks for the inquiry.
