Just wanted to share with all of you a wonderful coping resource I discovered that I now share with my friends and family members when they lose a beloved pet. There are two books out, available at Borders and probably any other bookstore, both written by the same author, God bless her! Even though they were originally written for kids I think, they helped me tremendously after losing my beloved 18-year old cat Casey, and have helped everyone I have ever given a copy to. The books are called, "Cat Heaven" and "Dog Heaven" and I recommend them highly. They are very sweetly written with great illustrations, and as I said, they are just really awesome books. I just sent one to my older brother, a "rough and tough" sort of guy who just lost his sweet German Shepherd that had been his companion for many years. Even he loved the book. They are just really neat books, and I wanted to pass it on to y'all. God bless,

There are a couple of other sources you might consider:

Blessing of the Animals: A Guide to Prayers Celebrating Pets & Other Creatures (it has eulogies and coping tips) and What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality: Inspiring Lessons of Wild & Tame Creatures (which discusses the afterlife and the origins behind the debate about it).

Both can be found on Amazon and I included a link to the list below.
