I wanted to take this time to let everyone know that we have aquired some more tanks and have officially started our opperations. We are a not for profit rescue..we recieve no financial assistance from any private or public sources.. this was started and continues to run on our our salaries. We are a family who happens to love and understand this very missunderstood creature. Many time pet stores sell Land Hermit crabs without giving any good caresheets or properly educating the customer. They feel that mesh top critter carriers or tanks and a bowl of tap water and some pellets are all that is needed and the hard truth is.. that is a sure death sentance! We have taken the time to research and learn about their complex needs both environmentally and nutritionally. We have the big place on our hearts for them and have opened our home up to them, dedicating a lot of time, effort and income into this project. We continue to recearch and educate ourselves to stay on top of the new discoveries and even take part in experimental habitat changes to find the ultimate captive environment to help these guys have long and healthy lives. We are currently taking in any unwanted and neglected Lang Hermit Crabs. At this time we do not pay for the crabs.. we are in fact a rescue.. and like the humane society... we do not pay to take in your unwanted pet... in fact the humane society often asks for donations to help pay for food and care of your animal.. we have not done that.. but would appreciate any and all help we recieve. We will take in any number of and any breed of Land Hermit Crab. On a case by case basis we will consider paying the full price of overnight shipping as long as the person understands exactly how that must be done and the crabs shipping container prepared.. but also if they are trustworthy enough to actually ship the Hermit Crab(s) We thank you for spreading the word and letting people realize that we are here and the Crabs do not need to die, should not be let go in the wild.. and have a wonderful forever home right here with us. Thank you again! Jennifer jennifersworkemail@yahoo.com I am an approved adopter, subscriber and member of The Crab Street Journal and the Hermit Crab Association.

All is going well.. we have 52 total Hermies at this moment.. have upgradded all of our tanks. We have decided to make my Blog the rescue website for now.. but I am working on moving it so we can share more information in a more attractive manner than just a blog. I am also getting ready to have a line of food.. quality, organic all natural Hermit Crab food both dry and moist as well as starter kits or a few different sizes. We are still taking in rescues so if you know of anyone please send them a link here so they may contact us!
