Okay i have a nearly 3 year old russian hamster called speedy and im really worried about his eyesight. a while back when speedy had wood shavings in his cage his eye had gone all blotchy and sore, i thought i might had been the sawdust and i thought that it would might go off eventually. Man was i wrong. A few months later the other eye had gone all swolen. i had changed the bedding to a soft shredded tissue, nothing improved. i tried dabbing a wet cotton bud across his eyes for him to open them, and one eye would not open at all and the other open a little but it was so guey it closed again... Help! i don't know what to do i've done i've washed his eyes a few times and it won't work!

Take him to a vet's office with a "Small Animal Veterinarian". He may have an eye infection & may need antibiotics.

Call local vet offices, ask if they have a Small Animal Vet & go there.
