My guinea pig is extremely pregnant. And just when i thought she was big a few days ago...she is ginormous now.

I can see the babies kicking and she seems to be plopping herself down on her belly rather than standing MOST of the time.

Also, every time she hears me open the fridge she starts whistling at me...

What do i need to be doing to make her more comfortable?

make sure that she is nice and clean, offer her lots of clean bedding and fresh water, hay, food etc. not much more you can do but wait. once she has given birth dont disturb the bed area for a couple of days, make sure she has plenty of space and peace and quite. after than the babies should be happily running around the cage with mum and you can sort of usher then out of the cage to clean it out.

often different places give you different advice on when you can begin handling the babies, but it is very dependant on the mother, if she leads the infants towards you while you are feeding her some veg, or if she allows them to roam around then often she will be fine for you to touch them.

hope this helps.
