My wife and I acquired a Miniature Pot Belly Pig who had been separated from his mother yesterday. He is only 3 weeks old. For the past 24 hours, we've had no luck with being able to feed him.

We purchased him some Esbilac Powder Puppy Milk Replacer for puppies 4-8 weeks old (the other stuff was for "just born", which he is not) and a bottle. He is 100% uninterested in the bottle. However, he is extremely comfortable with us and wants nothing more than to be wrapped in a blanket and held. Sometimes, while he's laying with you, he'll attempt to nurse on your neck.

This morning, I essentially had to "force feed" him with an oral syringe.

Can you help?

im afraid that i cant be of much help, im not even sure on what you should be feeding him...

but what i can suggest is that if the mother has been feeding him before you that you simulate her the best you can. lay down with him on the sofa, bed or floor, where ever you are both comfortable, and hide the bottle very close to yourself. when he is settled and close nudge him to the bottle rather than moving him directly or moving the bottle. hopefully he will try suckling.

may i ask how you came to aquire this little guy, or why he was taken away from his mother so young, if he was regected then it is possible that his mother knew there was something wrong with him that you are unaware of.

i appologise for the grammer, my shift key is broken.

sorry i couldnt be of more help
