I have been in VA for 16 years and like it here a lot.After I moved here, I became involved with our Humane Society and ended up fostering over 300 pets in about 10 years. Those that were not wanted or had problems stayed with me. That's how you end up with 11 dogs, 5 cats and a parrot! Most of them get along well and my oldest dog Joy just turned 20 years old. Because of fostering and because my ShihTzus have delicate stomachs, I started a business cooking chicken and rice for sick dogs. That expanded into chicken, sweet potato and oatmeal for old dogs. You will see it in the classifieds..
   
I am a nurse by profession and most of my dogs and the bird make nursing home visits - everybody loves that!
