Arabian Horse Breed Profile

The Arabian horse originates from the deserts of Asia and the most famous are the horses of the Bedouin Arabs, often known as the Elite Arab. These horses were used as a cavalry horse by the Moslems and taken to North Africa, Spain and France. They were left behind when the Moslems left these lands and were free to breed with local horses, resulting in many new breeds such as the Andalusian.

The Arabian horse is the oldest and purest of all horse breeds, and comes in every color except spotted and pinto. They are most well known for endurance, racing, and "improving" other breeds, but there is so much more to Arabians than that. Arabians appear delicate, but they are strong and muscular, and can exceed in ANY discipline. Arabians are also have one less vertebrae, in the back and in the tail, and one less rib than any other breed.
