These breeds don't make good pet's because they are prone to cancer and lung problems.

I agree, my bunny is very affectionate to only me!! He bites everyone else. Hehehe. And yes, they do demand attention. He'll jump right up on my back if I'm bent over in the garden. He's always wondering what I'm doing and butts/charges into everything, wanting to be a part of it. I wouldn't want him any other way. Although, I am a bit depressed about reading the comment that says they are more prone to cancer.

Californians are not more prone to cancer/lung problems than any other breed. All rabbits are highly prone to getting cancer (especially reproductive cancer in females if not spayed) and all rabbits are prone to respiratory ailments. Variations within a particular breed are usually due to a line from a particular breeder.

This breed of rabbit is amazing. Genius critters. My Californian (haha made pet of the week here, so proud of her) has a very spunky attitude...she does demand attention...if I'm not giving in she'll take my things and run with it till I chase her...the other day she took my cell phone and ran around the yard till I almost caught her, then she dropped it...this breed of rabbit is the best one in my opinion...sweet...easy to tame and train...gorgeous...perfect.
