Hi!
I am seriously considering purchasing a young, maybe a yearling Percheron for my horse project when I retire in three to four years. I have always loved horses and I currently have a 9 year old quarterhorse gelding and a 17 year old Arabian mare and have owned horses for the past 15 years. I love the look and movement of the Percheron but I have never been around any other than at the local fairs or at horse shows. I realize that some are very large (20 hands or more) and some are more or less "average" horse height. Aside from the obvious size difference could you give me some thoughts on how you have found Percherons to be in your experience in workng with them? Specifically are there any drawbacks that should be considered? I am in my 50's but am physically fit enough to work and keep up with and ride my horses currently with no problems.
Thank you for any input you may have regarding this beautiful breed.

This is Cass (28 months). She is a PMU (pregnant mare urine for the drug Premarin) foal from Manitoba, Canada. She is now with me in Michigan. She loves to play with water and will dump a mouthful of it on you when you least expect it!
