Soldier the American Shorthair Cat

Soldier, our beloved and exceptionally bright kitty-boy, came to us badly hurt after being mauled by dogs. We treated him, loved him, and he returned our love a thousand fold. We moved out of the country and took him to our parents till his paperwork to join us cleared. He did not like it, and he died before his paperwork came through. We were devastated at the news because we feel he died of a broken heart since the vet could find no other cause. Even now, some four years later, we cry when we mention him. He depended on us and we feel we let him down, as he did not understand the separation.
Here's to Soldier - we salute you and pray that you somehow know how much you are still loved and achingly missed.
