Suzie the Miniature Schnauzer Dog

We were blessed the day you came into our life, Suzie. We can't tell you how brokenhearted we are that you have left us so soon. It doesn't seem fair and it isn't. You were as devoted to us as we were to you. Always by our side no matter what...you helped with meals, helped do chores, enjoyed feeding the fish with me (enjoyed eating the stinky fish food better), painting, cleaning the garage, working in the yard, loved our road trips, especially in the truck, laying under the oak tree, and most of all, loved to wrestle and play with us on the floor. I miss our morning walks, and everywhere I look I see that sweet face peering around a corner, checking to see what we were up to, not quite willing to commit, but always ready for fun, games, and treats. I can still see you walking the perimeter of the backyard, seeing a bunny and nonchalantly sneaking up on it and chasing it around...the same with the squirrel and the birds. I hear you bark, more often than necessary, at neighbors or strangers walking by, the pizza guy at the door, the doorbell on the TV commercial, and other dogs out for their walks. The pitch your bark was always different depending on what was going on. You talked at me quite often as if to say, "Hurry Up", its time for that walk, or its time to get out of bed. You made me laugh. You listened to me when I was sad, or had a problem, and licked my hands as if to say, "It's okay, mom; you've got me." And I did...you were always there with that happy squeal and wiggly tail when I got home from work or from the store. Remember the time you escaped during Hurricane Erin. You got out of the backyard, where a portion of fence had been blown over by the wind, and we had to go chase you down the street in the midst of hurricane winds. Scare me to death. But I was always afraid of losing you. How many times did I tell Steve or family members," Don't lose my dog". It must have been a thousand or more. I've always been protective of you, and I miss you so much and would give most anything to have you back in my life. You won't be forgotten, you can count on that. You'll always be in our hearts and you took our love with you. Remember when we planned in the sprinklers in the back yard and I ended up throwing out my back and was down for days. It was fun...silly but fun. I miss that. I miss you. So remember, sweet baby girl, we will always think of you as our special little girl. Always, Mom
