? Koi are placed in large, durable plastic bag filled with water they are kept in and pure medical grade oxygen.
? A chemical may be added to the water to reduce ammonia and stress while shipping.
We follow a very strict packaging checklist that allows koi to be in transit for up to 48 hours.
Terms and conditionsUnfortunately we don't allow any refunds, exchanges or returns on our koi. We have a strict guarantee promise that the koi you ordered arrives alive.Any problems with shipping we can not be held responsible( such as; damaged boxes or delayed shipment.)If in the rare circumstance that you receive a koi that has died during regular shipping conditions, please contact us within 4 hours of arrival with a picture of the fish still in the bag and a picture of the box.Acclimation Instructions:
DO NOT float the bag in the pond for an extended period of time(over 10 mins.)
DO NOT leave the fish in the bag water after opening the bag
Koi consumes oxygen in the bag and adds carbon dioxide to the bag-------> pH of bag water lowers because of the CO2 ------> the lower pH makes the ammonia in the bag essentially non-toxic to the fish. As soon as the bag is opened and the bag water interacts with the outside air some oxygen enters the water and some CO2 leaves the water, this raises the pH and makes the ammonia in the bag water now toxic to the fish.
The best way to acclimate the fish is to float the bag for 5mins and then open the bag and introduce the koi directly into the pond.
DO NOT add the bag water to the pond, as it contains elevated levels of ammonia.
Other important notes:
All fish are imported from Japan and quarantined at our farm location with over 300,000 gallons of water. We import tens of thousands of koi every year from the best Japanese breeders located all over Japan. If you don't see a fish you like, contact us through to check our availability. (We carry almost every size and coloration of koi)The koi you purchase will be the exact koi pictured in the listing.Koi can tend to change colors from age, stress, new water conditions or from overall genetics.
